Install Argus Sensors
You’ll enroll a Sensor on a Linux host. After it appears online, Argus can run uptime checks and stress tests from that region.
Before you start
- An organization selected in the dashboard
- Permission to use Argus in that organization (owners and Full access members have it)
- A Linux host (amd64 or arm64) with outbound HTTPS to the Xooshe API
sudoon that host
You do not enter an IP or hostname in the dashboard — the install command enrolls the Sensor automatically.
Add a Sensor
- Open Argus → Sensors.
- Click Add Sensor.
- Optionally set Sensor name (for example
FRA-01), Region, and Zone. - Click Generate install command.
- Copy the Installation command.
- On the Linux host, run the command with sudo (paste as shown).
- Leave the dialog open until the Sensor appears (Waiting for sensor… → discovered).
The enrollment token is one-time and expires. After you close the dialog you cannot show the same command again — generate a new one if needed.
Manage Sensors
On Sensors you can see status, last seen, platform, architecture, assigned checks, and binary sync.
Use Revoke sensor when a host is retired or compromised. Revoked Sensors stop receiving checks.
You’re done when
- The Sensor shows as online (or recently seen) in Sensors.
- You can select it when creating an uptime check.
If it fails
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Token expired or install rejected | Generate a new install command and run it again |
| Sensor never appears | Confirm outbound HTTPS from the host to the Xooshe API; re-check the pasted command |
| Unsupported platform | Use Linux on amd64 or arm64 only |
| No permission / empty Argus | Select the right organization; ask an owner for Argus access |
