Import an existing environment

You’ll make an existing isolated place on the cluster visible in Xooshe as an environment, so you can monitor it and deploy new apps there.

Xooshe does not take over unmanaged workloads already running there. Those instances stay as they are.

Import is advanced: you type the existing Kubernetes namespace name. Preferred product word is still environment.

Before you start​

  • Cluster connected in Xooshe
  • Exact existing environment / namespace name on that cluster

Import the environment​

  1. Open Manage environments.
  2. Choose Import.
  3. Enter the existing name.
  4. Confirm Import.

You’re done when​

  • The environment appears in your list.
  • You can open monitoring for it.
  • New apps you deploy there are managed by Xooshe without changing old unmanaged workloads.

If it fails​

Nothing appears after import: confirm the name exists on the connected cluster and that you selected the right cluster.
