Define backup rules

You’ll create a backup rule that says what to protect and how often.

Before you start

  • Cluster connected with backups available
  • Clear list of environments / apps that matter
  • Enough space on the backup target

Create a rule

  1. Open Backups in the dashboard.
  2. Create a new rule (or open an existing one).
  3. Choose the scope:
    • Specific apps, or
    • An entire environment
  4. Set the schedule (for example daily) and retention.
  5. Save and run Backup now once to validate.

Restore from a backup

  1. Pick a successful backup.
  2. Choose restore into the same or a new environment.
  3. Wait for completion, then verify apps and databases before pointing users at them.

You’re done when

  • The rule appears in the list as active.
  • A completed backup run shows success.
  • Restore options appear for that backup.
