Define backup rules
You’ll create a backup rule that says what to protect and how often.
Before you start
- Cluster connected with backups available
- Clear list of environments / apps that matter
- Enough space on the backup target
Create a rule
- Open Backups in the dashboard.
- Create a new rule (or open an existing one).
- Choose the scope:
- Specific apps, or
- An entire environment
- Set the schedule (for example daily) and retention.
- Save and run Backup now once to validate.
Restore from a backup
- Pick a successful backup.
- Choose restore into the same or a new environment.
- Wait for completion, then verify apps and databases before pointing users at them.
You’re done when
- The rule appears in the list as active.
- A completed backup run shows success.
- Restore options appear for that backup.
If it fails
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| Backups fail immediately | Check backup target credentials and network |
| Restore missing data | Confirm the rule included the right apps / disks |
